Computer

I do not have specific website to recommend. When I have any problem regarding computer, I will google it. For an example, recently, many encounter problem in msn ( keyport problem and bla, bla , bla , all the error code xxxxxxx appear ). Just google error code ( e.g. google 8844022 msn error) and find solution from expert. Follow step by step, most of the time , problem can be sloved. You also can get whatever software ( freeware, shareware) by “googling” it. Another example, google “how to uninstall certain antivirus software ( avast, nod32 and etc.)” if u can not uninstall that software. I still remember that one computer expert say there is nothing that you cannot manage to search in internet. I partially believe that, as long as you put effort to search, you will get it finally.

I think it is better to teach to fish instead of giving fish like our lecturer told us every day. So, start fishing ( but not phising-what does it mean, try to google it) today ^ ^.

Hospice / palliative care

This term is quite new to all the people including even the doctor or health care worker. I myself heard that patient have misconception that hospice is hospital service. Since my friends and I were attached to KASIH HOSPICE during our elective, I have learned what the hospice really is.

Palliative care is an approach that improves the quality of life of patients and their families facing the problem associated with life-threatening illness, through the prevention and relief of suffering by means of early identification and impeccable assessment and treatment of pain and other problems, physical, psychosocial and spiritual. It was founded by Dame Cicely Saunder (we are asked about this when we first met the doctor in charge)

In simple words, hospice or palliative care provide care to patient and family member holistically (biopsychosocial-spiritual or physical , mental, social and spiritual )so that patient have end stage of life with dignity and without suffering. Meantime, hospice helps family member to cope with loss of beloved till bereavement. In KASIH, Dr simplify this as 全人，全家，全程 (whole human being, whole family, whole journey in chinese)

Thus, as health care worker, we should NEVER NEVER tell patient that you have nothing to do to help him or her, leaving him unattended or disappointed. When we do not know how to handle this situation, please refer them to hospice unit. During the attachment, we really learned a lot and enjoyed it. If the day of birth is of so much significance, then it should be the same for the day of death (which is quoted by leong, I personally like this very much). So, my friend, be holistic and skillful while dealing with the terminally ill patient. Last but not least, see u guy and put effort in our final year.

How to tweak ur window vista in simple way

vista service optimizer will be good option

first google it and download it

for ur information, it is freeware

after finished downloading it, install it

after installation, run it

First of all, get ur computer diagnosed to see what optimization is needed

here, there is example of my computer which is optimized before

let say there is some services need to be optimized

choos the automatic tune up ( standard service optimization will be safer for the beginner )

after that, restart ur computer , it will take effect then

and remember to choose ur suitable setting. for an example, if you need to turn on window firewall , then untick the "I do not need window firewall............."

That's all , enjoy tweaking ur window vista in few steps

Long time din write any new post here. Apology to my blog , haha

Recently, i come back to KCKL often since we are posted in IPHKL for paed.

Back in year 2005/2006, when i was in 1st year, I was just naive student, Time really flew, Hopefully, i can fully utilize 2009/2010 to prepare myself to be competent HM , need to put a lot of effort la, So gambateh for me and my coursemate.

Many thing ( happy and sad) happened in this 2008, Anyhow, become mature ( actually older, haha ^ ^)

There are hours left when 2009 come and thence here, wish all of us happy new year and all the dream come true lo.

Actually, i did write some tutorial on certain aspect of computer, but recently I am lazy to post it here. hehe

How to save your computer in the critical time

Sometime, we encounter serious problem in our computer such as failure to start window ,blue screen or virus infection which can not be cleaned completely by all the antivirus

Then, we need to spend a lot of time on formatting and reinstalling the window again. The worst thing is that you might lose many important in the computer e.g. memorable photo.

We need to prepare for this such annoying disaster. We should backup important thing, e.g. save it in external harddisk, upload it to the internel virtual harddisk (adrive which i am using now or mediafire, etc), or create image file by certain software like acronis, norton ghost and so on.

For instance,i will backup the whole window by acronis true image and restore it back in minutes if unexpected laptop problem occur. Furthermore, i save my document and another important in the another partition in my laptop, however, i will save thing of utmost importance e.e my case write up in pendrive, and upload it into the internet harddisk for double prevention. Sound a bit obsessive compulsive personality trait, haha.

Thus, here, i will share how to backup the whole window by Acronis.

In summary:

1. Boot from your cd or dvd drive.

2. Make a partition and install window in the formatted partition ( harddisk).

3. Click next and follow the instruction e.g. insert the serial number and enter the name and choose the setting for network and etc.

4. Then install respective drivers

5. Remember to install the necessary software according to our own preference.

Gout （痛风 or 尿酸)

Gout （痛风 or 尿酸 in Chinese term）

Gout is the joint disease where there is urate deposit ( specifically monosodium urate monohydrate crystal) in joint resulting in inflammation which cause all the symptoms ( pain , warmth and so on). It is more common in men ( 20:1)
Cause ( aetiology) are overproduction (excessive production) of urate and underexcretion ( reduced excretion) of urate.
Urate is breakdown product from the purine ( building block of DNA). The food rich with purine contribute to hyperuricemia and indirectly to gout. Thus, patient with gout should avoid these foods such as peanut product ( including taufu or beancurd), internal organ and red meat.
Doctor will confirm diagnosis of gout by increased urate ( hyperuricaemia , hyper- mean high )in lab test and most accurately by finding the birefingent ( green-coloured crystal ) in synovial fluid.
How to manage this illness?
Rest yout joint, take pain killer ( NSAID-non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agent). In severe case, doctor will prescribe colchine ( which will stop division of cell), uricosuric drug ( induce urate excretion in urine), allopurinol ( which stop or inhibit one enzyme ( xanthine oxidase) in the process of purine breakdown).

These uricosuric drug and allopurinol should be taken with NSAID during acute attack (sudden or short-lived attack) because it will precipitate or worsen the attack leading to more pain. In all disease, medicines just do a part in management of the disease. Thus, in this case, patient should lose weight ( weight really burden your joint, that’s why obese patient easily had joint pain), reduce or stop alcohol consumption ( which will reduce urate excretion), reduce or stop the diuretic ( the drug which cause urination to excrete water from our body, usually used in heart failure-inability of heart to pump blood efficiently, high blood pressure/hypertension, water in lung ( pulmonary edema) and so on)

Medicine is ever changing field so the information maybe no longer correct in the moment you are reading it. Furthermore, this is written by the medical student ( not a qualified doctor yet) when he encounter the people with that disease and there is possibility of mistake in this text. Consult your nearby doctor if there is any query.

Besides that, from my conversation with psychiatry coursemate, it remind me of so many thing in my psychiatry posting... the thing i learnt there: psychotherapy especially impose the logical thinking on top of ur perception

I think i should apply to myself this time, impose the logical thinking on top of the confused mind. Dun be trapped in this thinking anymore le... think from various angle, thing will be better...

The politic

Most of people will dislike this “politic” including me as well. However, recently, there is a lot of unexpected occasion in our country. This alarming event of course rise some awareness among the youngster; teenager ( including university student) become more alert with the happening in our country. They will read several newspapers and surf the uncensored news in internet such as www.malaysiakini.com.my and blog of the famous politician. It is good phenomenon since the teenager will not be indulged in their daily life: studying, seeking for entertainment but they show concern towards happening around their own country. One of friend said that perhaps someone wants to embark in political journey since he cannot stand the nowadays politic. In other word, he wants to change the world by becoming politician. No doubt, I really agree with him. Here, I hope that such politician will appear like mushroom after the rain. Then, our country will become developed not only economically and also morally. Perhaps the day where we sincerely called us Malaysian not malay, Chinese, india or so on anymore and compete with other country rather than fight among each other in our country will come soon.

First of all, let me introduce myself, I am kee vooi ( aka anaspher in the internet world) , I have many other name like malat, ah B, qi wen ( in mandarin). No matter what u call me, I m just a little ordinary human who just wanna make little betterment in the world if possible.

The purpose of this blog is to share something in pda and computer and it serves as channel for me to occupy my time lest i think too much in another aspect.
